Sonny’s Blues by James Baldwin is the story of two brother’s relationship as one of them battles addiction in mid-twentieth century Harlem. Through the use of photographs of Harlem during the time period the novel is set, this re-design shows the reality of poverty and addiction that affected and continues to affect many Black Americans.
